Re: hydraulic pump drive shaft fitting, sliding or press fitting?

Hi All, Thanks for your comments. Just to be clear. I have over sized the original grub screw to metric M8 size. So my new grub screw (I use an allen screw) is on the same location as the old one just a little bit bigger. Yes it was a pain to remove the original one. Due to a rusted head, my allen w...

hydraulic pump drive shaft fitting, sliding or press fitting?

Hi, I have to replace the main hydraulic pump of my 3CX White Cab. It was a pain to remove the drive shaft yoke from the pump drive shaft (Hamworthy, single type 1 1/4" diam. shaft). I had to hollow the grub screw, disassembling the universal joint near to the pump and then pulling the yoke by ...

Re: 3CX White cab hydra clamps lever positions

The hydra clamps are working now.
The mechanism on the valve block was stuck by mud and rust. I did some cleaning and greasing of the mechanism and now it's moving when I move the hydra clamp lever inside the cab.

Re: 3CX White cab hydra clamps lever positions

Yesterday evening I did a quick check and most probably John has right. The mechanism on the valve block has been stuck. When I move the lever between both positions I see at the valve block that the rod is rotating free in the valve block hoe but the valve hoe itself doesn't move. I've no drawings ...

Re: 3CX White cab hydra clamps lever positions

Hi guys, Thanks both of you for your valuable input! In both positions I don't see that the clamps are releasing. So first I'll check if the lever is really moving the mechanism on the valve block. Hmm most probably the carriage has been stuck because when the machine is standing for a while I don't...

Re: Diode Bank - 82 JCB 3CX MK1 White Cab

Hi, The diode bank is in fact not one single component. In fact there are 6 individual diodes which are located onto the printed circuit board inside the dashboard. It's the green colored board beneath the fuses. You can see it when you look through the fuse access hole into the dashboard panel. I'v...

Re: 3CX 1982 White Cab hydraulic pump noise

Hi, The 'free-not-by-any-metal-supported' area of the suction pipe is very short (I think about 1"). With this area I mean the distance between the end of the tank feed tube and the edge of the inlet pump manifold. See picture below (maybe it's needed to increase the brightness of the monitor a...

Re: 3CX 1982 White Cab hydraulic pump noise

Hi all, The previous time I had ISO VG 46 oil in it and with this oil the noise is also present. Using ISO VG 46 or ISO VG 32 oil, it’s depending on a combination of how heavy you will/are working with your machine (hydraulic oil temperature) and the outside temperature. For heavy use it's better to...

3CX 1982 White Cab hydraulic pump noise

Hi All, I have a 1982 JCB 3CX White Cab (Perkins engine) since 2 years. I had to repair and fix a lot of things because the previous owners didn’t maintain the machine at all. Nevertheless I was able to fix all the failures and problems but I still have 1 phenomenon which I cannot solve (even the ro...
