from time to time i get to operate a GROVE/COLES AP415 very similar to the jones iron fairy . they are a great little crane to operate a recent job i was on had me picking and carying parts of an industrial bailing machine inside a building where it was to be assembled, the biggest wheighing 7 tons,...

The veiw from operating a tower crane is one of the best perks of the job
the higher you go the better it gets.
As for the tower crane erectors they have my respect for what they do.

I was wondering gaz,as you said in one of your posts about narow streets and weight limits, are the route's that you get up to scratch ive had some real doozy's and thats up north with lots of green feilds .

i would say it gets used to move eki matts,general tackle , the large wire rope's used for lifting. that sort of thing. cranes the size of the Demag TC2800 use some heafty and very heavy tackle not the sort you can manhandle

Recieved this picture of my brother in law ,its the main crain on the mpi resolution. They were perfoming a function test and had 500 ton on the main hook block. The vessel is curently birthed on the river tees for maintenance before sailing to the thames estuary to start work on a wind farm instala...

Had a quick job for heavy cranes yesterday, loaded 170 ton of counter weight and the superlift tray for our Demag TC2800, And there tellehandler . It all went on three ballast trucks which are headed for a job in port talbot wales. 1st wagon had 70t on. 7x10t counter weights 2nd wagon 60t + superlif...
