Re: A few of my Tower Crane pictures.

To get it down they are going to place a smaller TC on the very tip of the building, then erect a derrick crane to get that one down, then take that down in pieces in the lift.

Re: A few of my Tower Crane pictures.

An update from the Shard. This building really is some height and still has 80m to go. They have recently installed the latest tower crane to finish the tower. Amazing it is cantilevered from level 56. below are some pics of it being erected. http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5272/5873109379_ae84c73838...

Not the oldest of cranes but becoming more and more rare, this NCK Rapier is currently being used alongside HMS Belfast by Tower Bridge. http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/post_img/4810131154c988fc2e0ffb.jpg URL of the original image: http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4147/5005484222_b78baf0b...

Re: A few of my Tower Crane pictures.

I may as well use this opportunity to post some pics of model tower crane I have built. It is based on an old wolffkran EC600 in 1:50 scale. Took me about 2 years to build on and off. I am now working on an old wolff 280B (ignore the socks on the line  ) http://www.classicmachinery.net/foru...
