Re: DB4

What a beautiful restoration. We have a couple of David Brown tractors and everything is Whitworth from front to back. I find it odd that they didn't use the D.B. engine as they have both 4 and 6 cylinders engines available, the latter used in the DB50 Hi, D B didnt use their own diesel in the DB4 ...

Hi Steve, I haven't been on here for a while so it's good to see you keeping up the good work with a load of brilliant pics. The Daf belonging to M&M Low Loaders of Cardiff, (Robert McNamara), in one of your previous posts did many a move for me and I'm pretty sure the Priestman 120 on Ton...

Re: Perkins phaser 1004 in 3cx running bad

Hi Dave, Looking at your video the smoke is clearly unburned fuel. If it was over fuelling from the injector pump the engine would burn the excess fuel and the exhaust would be black. The likely source of the unburnt fuel is as Goreplant says the "Thermostart" cold start unit leaking fuel ...

St Neotts

Hi All. A week last Saturday Russell Seywell held an open day at St. Neots. It was not well advertised and there weren't many there but it was a great day out as usual. Great to see him putting his toys through their paces. This is the first chance I've had to post some pics. so here ate a few to go...

Re: Perkins 4236 saga continues

Hi Ian, As Agrimax says, the idler gear will have two dot punch marks which line up either side of the single mark on the crank gear and two pairs of punch marks which then line up either side of a single mark on the cam and pump drive gears. I can't see where the 124 comes from?? The ones I worked ...

Re: Perkins 6.354 fuel pump JCB 814

Dear all I noticed today a diesel leak from what looks like a round disc (diaphragm) on the front side of the vertical fuel pump. Not sure what this does (some kind of regulation?). Is it common to develop a leak there? I can't see exactly from where the leak is actually coming. Thanks Peter Hi Pet...
