What is that beast in the first pic.
Norm.

Hi Norm,
The beast is a Trackson Shovel on a Cat D7.
Here's a pic. I took of one at Russell Seyward's open day a little while back.

Re: Hitachi EX27u Low Pressure ?

Hi John, I'm afraid I don't know the Hitachi EX27 but I do know hydraulics. Jeremy is right to suggest that a pressure check is the way to go. If everything else but the boom are working OK that eliminates a pump problem. If the boom is lacking power both up and down that points to ram seals but if ...

What type of machine the Barber Greene behind the Dodge? That's a Barber Greene 44C trencher. There was one in the yard, (retired), when I started work for The Cardiff Plant Group in the 1960s Fred Just an edit to say numbers of these 44Cs were built in the UK in the 1950s by Rubery Owen and powere...

Re: Fordson Model N Standard - Spark Plug Thread size

Forgive me for sticking my nose in Fred but is that a little unexpected? That is a metric thread on a pre 1945 Fordson? Hi, I'm sure every other thread in the Fordson is SAE, but most plugs had gone metric pre-war. I checked my plug with a Micrometer and Thread Guage. Here is a Fordson N plug from ...

Re: Fordson Model N Standard - Spark Plug Thread size

Hi, I have a Fordson N in the garage and I just checked out and measured a spare plug. It 's 22mm metric.( Not imperial 7/8 SAE or UNF.) It's a 22 MM fine metric thread with a 1.5 mm pitch. That works back to roughly 17+ threads per inch. There should be no trouble find...

Re: The way we were

Why would a TK have a Leyland engine? :dizzy: Yes, I'm sure you'e right. It was AWD that had the TM 4x4 with the 4x4 driven/steered trailer, and later a Leyland T45 4x2 with the 4x4 trailer. Hi Rob, The Leyland Engine was a standard factory option in the heavier TK chassis. Not surprising when the ...

Re: Lister Petter TS3 Engine Flywheel removal

Try Giving the flywheel a good thump through the starter aperture, turn the engine and thump the opposite side a few times whilst tightening the puller.

Re: The way we were

Here's one to puzzle over. :!: :!: :? http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/userpix/2600_WFLGWMOF9YUQ1515183820.jpg The write-up says the TK is powered by a Leyland 401 engine and the trailer by a Ford 365, but there's no mention of how the truck and trailer are geared or synchronised to work...
