My old girl is a little weary in the hyd. department, and I would like to rectify this, but with workshop manuals slightly less common than peace in Syria, it's a bit of a challenge. Before b...

Re: JCB 805B serial location and One or two other points
Another question for you, folks :) Been having a fiddle trying to get the powerslide to slide on my 805BT. After much effort bashing the dipper arm into immovable objects to get it to move with no luck, I have discovered that the lock release lever in the cab was not rotating the valve - just the le...

Re: Thrown out every couple of minutes! :(
Amazingly, I did not get thrown out once last night! Instead, all images posted on here seem to open up as you click on the main post, then rapidly all shut down one at a time untill they are all gone. Then clicking on a picture icon goes through the process again! Ah well! Thanks for the replies fo...

Hymac 580 Parts book circa 1966
Mentioned this in a post under a JCB heading, but just repeating briefly here, that I have an old hardback Parts manual for the early Hy-Mac (Imperial?) with the early flat tracks. If it is of any use to those here, let me know! I will bung it on the dreaded fleabay shortly otherwise, as I intend to...

Also, there is an electrical rocker switch adjacent to the main Hydraulic filter, but the label has worn away....anybody know what is does? Are the bucket pins officially 60 or 65mm, and should the dipper ar...

Re: No Going Back! Benford Gearbox Problem
Just had exactly the same symptoms on a Newage 85 box......tuned out the needle roller bearing inside the reverse gear idler had collapsed and split the gear clean in half. Full stripdown and new gear/bearing, half a days work. Detailed stripdown procedure on Wingets site.

Re: 1985 JCB 3CX maintenance manual needed
Hiya, I have a 327006 serial number machine, and got hold of a suitable owners handbook, issue 1/1/85, publication no. 9801/4480 This covers controls, operating and day to day service, grease points, oils, etc. Also info on various attachments. Its a bit fragile, as the ring binding has gone brittle...
