RB 550 ST cranes

Does anybody have any duties sheets for an RB 550 ST transit crane on a Faun chassis. Do they have free on wheels as well as blocked duties?

Re: Hydrocon Cranes

Craig, I think the crane chassis was Hydrocons own. It was very meaty with leg boxes of course. Only manual legs. She had a Leyland 680 power plus engine. My Hydrocon Clansman which is about the same vintage has Leyland running gear engine etc although it was possibly Albion based after Leyland took...

Re: Hydrocon Cranes

Craig, Regrettably no. I was told it succumbed about 18 months ago when the price of scrap was at an all time high. It would never have run again, the boom was in very rusty condition the last time I saw it which was about 10 years ago and engine parts and the PTO and pump had been removed to keep t...

Priestman Tiger

Photographed from a river cruise on the River Douro in Portugal on 1st Oct 2011. A Priestman Tiger mounted on a barge, apparently out of use but still externally at least in fairly good condition.

Re: Woolfenden Lorains

Aiden, Most of the cranes were shipped over during or after the war by the US Military and WW bought them at disposal sales and refurbished them. Old Coles Crane

I took the following pictures last week in a port called Porto de Varzim in Portugal ( about 30 miles north of Oporto). The coles crane was still in use at a shipyard repairing fishing boats and its serial number is 28671. I am sure some of our members will be able to come up with the details. regar...

Smiths 14 / E1400

Gentlemen (and ladies), Does anybody have any information on Smiths 14 or E1400 crawlers, duties sheets, specifications etc. Arthur Smith did briefly touch on them in his Smiths series in Classic Plant magazine a couple of years ago but did not go into too much detail. Any information or pictures wo...

Re: Woolfenden Lorains

Reis,

Just had a look at the Flckr site. Obviously somebody else besides me has a great interest in Woolfendens and Lorains.
