Re: Help! 3d or 3cx?

I've my 3CX since Jan 1995 and only ever used red ATF oil. There was red stuff in it too when I got it. It was at least 20 years ago I replaced one oil seal in the torque converter and it has had nothing since.Don't think you need to change anything........

Re: Help! 3d or 3cx?

Whatever you do,do not try to ''slip the clutch'' as such, with that pedal. It is only for activating a dump valve to allow you to change gear. Should be up or down only. The clutch plates in the shuttle transmission do not like being slipped and will last no length of time if you do.Momentary use is ...

Re: Help! 3d or 3cx?

Yip,A 3D(X). Longer dipper and wider rails. Think it's actually a 1983 model. A zoom in on the gear lever shows the later shape gear knob than mine. 26'' wheels on the back perhaps rather than 28s and 18'' fronts rather than 16''? Don't know if there were any other differences between the CX and D.

Re: Help! 3d or 3cx?

The serial number suggests its a 3D.Essentially a 1982 3DX but I don't think they included the X in the actual name. Think they possibly had wider carriage rails like the Sitemaster. Do the jack legs sit flush with the mudguards or are they a few inches wider? Dipper should be longer than the standa...

Re: Jcb loadall 96 530-120 Ral colour codes please

I believe the yellow to be RAL 1007 which can be known as daffodil yellow. Seems to be no code for the grey..........

Re: 3CX ID

Hi luvo, your serial number is around a thousand later than mine, mine being a 1982 white cab. What colour is the frame of your cab? White or black?

Re: Where is the fuel tank and sender?

The fuel tank is below the windscreen(windshield),and under the dashboard. The sender unit is in the top middle of the tank. You need the dash removed to access it. IIRC,the wire from the sender is green with a black tracer. If you remove this wire and earth it,with the key on,the gauge should go up t...

Re: 1989 3CX grey cab tacho

It should be connected to the alternator. The alternator needs a 'W' terminal though. If there is no W terminal on the replacement alt,a good autospark should be able to fit one to it but a correct alternator could be the better option.

B2929 and B2930 I think are the ones...That's a 4000 front axle.
