3 cylinder diesel ford engine in Sanderson Fork Lift

Has anyone worked on these engines? Any help would be gratefully received. Am having problems with this engine. Fork lift has been stood for 2 years. I Can't get any diesel fuel through injector pipes on way to injectors. I purchased a barrel to use as a high up diesel tank, pipe led down to filter ...

Re: Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

Thanks for the responses. I will check tomorrow to see if the rocker adjuster screw is down too much, or indeed a piece of dirt has fallen into the tappet socket. It is very cold out there today, so am leaving it till tomorrow.

Re: Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

Help needed once again please for the Leyland Terrier 4/98 engine. When I removed the cylinder head, I turned the engine in an anticlockwise direction, because it was easier to turn over that way with a bar as the engine is in a JCB. We replaced the head and it seems as if a valve is touching, when ...

Re: Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

Thanks so much for your responses. I will have a go getting shims fitted underneath and get the head skimmed. I haven't had any problems with over heating - only if the engine looses water because of the head. We fitted a new rad about 2 years ago.

Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

Hi, I have been having problems with the engine in my JCB 3C3. It is a Leyland, and in the past I have had to renew the cylinder head gasket every year, but in 2014 someone told me to use wellseal, and till yesterday all was well. Unfortunately it started playing up again yesterday. It seems to be m...

Re: JCB 3C3 hydraulics

We had the pipe for the back actor into the place that should have been for the pump, but because the back actor worked OK we thought we had it right. Also looking at the diagrams we had we thought we had done it right. The man at JCB though told us we were looking at the diagram as if it were a lit...

Re: JCB 3C3 hydraulics

phew - we did it. Had a quick word with a very helpful young man at JCB in Lincoln, he showed us where we had been going wrong on the diagram that we had. Needed to get another hydraulic pipe sorted, and now everything is working fine.

Thank you so much to all that tried to help.

Re: JCB 3C3 hydraulics

Well today we have got nowhere. We have changed around all the hydraulic pipes in sections 1 2 and 3 of the the control block in case the flow was wrong, but still have same result. We swapped one section top to bottom, tried the machine, then did the same with section two, then section three. It st...

Re: JCB 3C3 hydraulics

We changed the two hydraulic pipes around that went respectively to the chassis and to the pump, so now the pipe for the pump is at the top and the pipe for the chassis is at the bottom, as you can see on the diagram. This diagram is from a JCB manual for the machine that the clamp bucket came off. ...

Re: JCB 3C3 hydraulics

That could be the problem, so I will try that out as soon as I get back home.
