The first crawler I ever drove was a Bristol 22 my dad had back in NZ in about 1958. He built his own hydraulic blade setup for it and went out earthmoving and general contracting with it. Cheers RDG

Spent some time on one of those when I first started operating, they really develop the muscles in your arms, your arms being the power in the steering.

I remember those when I was a kid, two Fordson Major tractors, back 2 back with about a 6yd bowl between them, built by Huntly Engineering & Welding Co, hence the name HEWCO.

That photos taken in Penwardens quarry up Wharawhara Rd ,Katikati. I think its now been taken over by Swaps from Matamata, one of the dozen orso quarries they own in the Waikato/B.O.P..

Hi dozeron, Where did you see that Mitsi with the duals, looks awfully like one that I saw at Papamoa near Tauranga, and was owned by Murray Salt from Tepuke, I think the duals were put on to give it more floation in the loose fluffy sand they were working in at the time.
