I came across a half hour documentary from 1995 on the BBC's iPlayer about the construction of the Jubilee Line Extension featuring the work of the Balfour Beatty/Amec and Sir Robert McAlpine/Bachy joint ventures. Plenty of footage of the construction works and now classic equipment at work, as well...

The first machine sounds like a British name but looks like a re badge of the German machine? If I remember correctly, the Case 488 was built by the Italian manufacturer Macmoter who also supplied O&K with mini and midi models.

A JCB JS130LC I came across, note the wide tracks with rubber wear strips. The machine was undertaken weed cutting along ditches/dykes in Staffordshire.
