Re: Hymac Excavators

Hi Dan that is a nice looking machine you have there, a Perkins powered 580C; the 580C is a good all round machine and relatively easy to maintain.

Re: Total novice just bought a JCB 5C - help!

Malcolm the guy who owns the 5C that was at Welland is called Christopher Ball; I know of two other machines owned by the same person, one for parts the other for renovation, when I next see him I will ask the question about the engine cover.

Re: Total novice just bought a JCB 5C - help!

Hi Malcolm and welcome to CMN  nice project you have there and a real classic to boot  Although I have always been a big construction machinery fanatic since I was a kid many moons ago now and have a general all round knowledge of machines, my own purchasing experience has been int...

A spool is a control valve that lets hydraulic fluid flow to the ram in each direction as required; a drag link is usually the bit that connects the steering box or ram to the axle on the one side of a machine.

Re: Poclain 75 CKB

At last I managed to get up to my machines for the first time this year :) there is one job on the Poclain that has needed doing since I first bought it and that is the leaking dipper arm piston seal, it has gradually got worse and was dripping even when the engine was idling so it was time to get i...

Re: New owner of Hymac 580B

Nice one Andy  this does make a lot of sense especially with an old cast pad machine that tracks slowly, plus the trailer will come in useful to move other machines.
