Re: 1970's Benford 15cwt dumper steering box

Is there any adjustments in these steering boxes? I have an unknown make / model dumper but I have been told it is a Benford and there is a bit of wear in it and makes it tricky to steer. John I take it you mean that the dumper has "steering wander" so trying to travel in a straight line ...

Re: Hymac 580BT 1969

Re: Poclain 75 CKB

I was supposed to meet up with my usual gang of friends today but things fell apart so I decided to do a 'flying visit' to my machines, normally I would not want to do this because of the distance involved I like to plan ahead to make sure that I accomplish something good on each visit. To cut a lon...

Re: Thwaites 4WD 3T Dumper Restore

Hi Sean I take it you are talking about the bolt on covers and a suitable gasket for them? Re: Classic pictures Updated 06/05/2018

This now classic ERF EC11 was spotted by me on the same industrial estate on which my work is so I quickly grabbed my small point and shoot camera and snapped it. Jeremy http://www.classicmachinery.net/forum/images/userpix/112_1TCWU40C47HU11526486967.jpg http://www.classicmachinery.net/for...

Re: Thwaites 4WD 3T Dumper Restore

Sean I'd guess that the axle oil is any good EP90 that you can get your hands on and the brakes would have standard brake fluid in them, the seals will be available from any good bearings/drives supplier.

Thanks Fred :claphands:  I would have come along but only found out it was at Roy's the day before, it's only around 40 minutes or so from where I live, did he run the Harrier up?
