Re: Perkins 6.354 fuel pump JCB 814

Okay now I know what we are looking at  is it a bad leak or not? Pete I would have thought you would only get this issue fixed by an injection pump specialist?

Re: Perkins 6.354 fuel pump JCB 814

Pete what does this look like? I was wondering if it was one of the pumps valves? Are you sure the diesel is not running down to there from a higher place?

Re: my new jcb 3dmk3

Markus I am not sure if this is a self bleeding system or not as I have never worked on one, I would advise that you would probably be better off putting new oil back into the machine, but see what the oil that comes out looks like first. If you don't want to drain the oil get a hydraulic hose maker...

Re: Perkins 4236 engine rebuild rocker shaft

Ian I am trying to picture in my mind where you want to grind this shaft? I would say that you probably could grind it but some pictures of the issue would help.

Re: Thwaites Alldig

Hi Paul and welcome to CMN  I am no hydraulic expert but start with the simple things, is there sufficient hydraulic oil in the machine, is the connection to the operating spool valve okay? Make sure there are no airlocks in the system, does the rest of the machine operate okay? I am sure that...

Re: Leyland engine with flat topped rocker cover

While I have no working knowledge on Leyland engines I can tell you that many wet liner engines can have shims fitted underneath the liner to raise them up you need to use a dial gauge to measure the liner protrusion so you know what size shim you will need to fit underneath it this should permanent...

Re: my new jcb 3dmk3

Markus I am in the process of replacing lots of low pressure hydraulic hoses on the old Poclain excavator that I will one day set about restoring; technically if the machine has been stood a while there should be no pressure left in the system but it does not hurt to operate the controls with the en...
